Baptism Song - Matthew Series Week 2
This past Sunday, Nick preached on the Baptism of Jesus in Matthew 3:13-17, and looked at what Jesus, who was righteous or legally justified before God the Father, on our behalf. This is what baptism signifies and why those who have placed their faith in Christ follow Him in baptism.
We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. - Romans 6:4
If you haven’t read it yet, we also have a summary article over the sermon to help you go deeper in thinking through the implications of Jesus’ Baptism. Check it out here on our resource page.
We introduced a new song, unique in its topic of baptism. It’s a blessing to have biblical songs to sing, both old and new, that cover a wide range of theological topics to add to our personal discipleship and our corporate worship gatherings.

Baptism Song - Free Chapel Music
Are you broken, low in life?
There’s a man who paid the highest price
For your freedom, with every scar
With every wound came a brand new start
Make this confession
Before the crowds
Fully committed
A life laid down
You can leave it all in the water
You can let it all be washed away
The old man is gone
The past is over
It’s been buried in the grave
It’s been buried in the grave
It’s been buried in the grave
Are you empty but filled with pain?
Overwhelmed by guilt and shame?
There's a lifter of every head
He took it all when He conquered death
You can leave it all in the water
You can let it all be washed away
The old man is gone
The past is over
It’s been buried in the grave
It’s been buried in the grave
It’s been buried in the grave
Goodbye old
Hello new
Seize the day
He’s given you
Hello freedom
Goodbye chains
The Savior’s blood
Running through your veins
It’s been buried in the grave
It’s been buried in the grave
It’s been buried in the grave
